3-DAY TOUR OF SICILY - TROPEA

MESSINA - TROPEA
Depart from Catania and drive to Messina, for a visit of the town. This town is the third largest city on the island of Sicily. We will start the visit by going to the Cathedral containing the remains of king Conrad, ruler of Germany and Sicily in the 13th century. The building had to be almost entirely rebuilt in 1919-1920, following the devastating 1908 earthquake, and again in 1943, after a fire triggered by Allied bombings, The Fountain of Orion, located next to the Cathedral, built by Giovanni Angelo Montorsoli in 1547 and The San Ranieri lighthouse (1555).
In the afternoon we get the ferry boat across to mainland Italy and drive to Tropea where we will check in the luxury hotel and relax there for the nights

TAORMINA- GARDINI NAXOS
In the morning we start with breakfast in the Hotel, then we will spend the morning in Taormina situated on a rocky plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, dominating the Ionian coast from Capo Sant'Andrea to Capo Taormina and visit of the theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily. This is a small town on the east coast of the island of Sicily, Italy, in the Province of Messina, about midway between Messina and Catania. Taormina has been a very popular tourist destination since the 19th century. It has popular beaches on the Ionian Sea, which is remarkably warm and has a high salt content.
We will then drive down to the Catania and you will have a free afternoon shopping.
